Last Saturday, I along with fellow colleagues Dianne and Rey, hit The Gap State School’s annual fete to chess it up!
It was a beautiful sunny morning as we pitched up the gazebo and set up an array of chess goodies such as books, sets, playing cards, clocks and of course the infamous giant chess set!
We were visited all day by fun-loving families who took to the giant set to play each other – with the kids often giving their parents a very good game! All beginner players were welcomed by our experienced coach Dianne who taught them a few rules and some clever tricks over the chess boards.
We all had a super fun and interactive day with the parents and children and wish to thank everyone who came and visited us including families from Payne Road, Hilder Road and Ashgrove State Schools. A huge thank you also to The Gap State School for inviting us to be a part of such an exciting event.
We thoroughly enjoy providing chess lessons at The Gap State School and look forward to more chess fun throughout the year.
