Gardiner Chess and St Columban’s College are proud to present the St Columban’s Invitational Chess Championships, being held on Monday 10th October 2016.
Where: St Columban’s College, Caboolture in the Mary MacKillop Performance Centre (entrance to tournament venue is via Pettigrew Steet. Ample parking for buses and cars will be available.)
Who: All Primary and Secondary school, from the North Lakes region in the South, to Beerwah in the North and from Bribie Island in the East to Kingaroy in the West. Parents are welcome to attend to observe the competition.
There will be seperate divisions for both primary and secondary players, and depending on numbers we will add extra divisions for both primary and secondary.
Cost: $15 per student, invoiced to the school after the tournament.
Registration time: 8.30am – 9.15am
Tournament time: 9.30am – 2.00pm
Prize Giving: 2.00pm – 2.15pm
*There will be a P&F BBQ and coffee shop available for purchase of food and drink.
How it works:
Schools may enter as many players in teams of 4 of part thereof as they wish. Individuals will play against others on the same score (or as close as possible) throughout the day, and cannot play against players in the same team.
Players will play a minimum of 7 games throughout the day with individual and team prizes being awarded at the end of the day. Team prizes are calculated by adding the 4 team member scores together.
How to Enter:
To enter players into the tournament you will need to create to follow the steps listed here. When it comes to selecting your region in step 4, please note that this will be listed as ‘St Columban’s’ (Until end of year when i will change it back to your regular Inter-School region).
