The Queensland Inter-School state finals is the pinnacle of schools chess in Queensland.
In order to take part in the finals, teams must have qualified to the tournament via their regional competition.
The tournament takes place on both the Saturday and Sunday with 4 rounds on Saturday and 2 on Sunday to facilitate flights on the Sunday afternoon.
