Event Details

 

This event is designed for players rated over 800 QJ, making this event for junior players who are improving and looking to be playing in adult weekend events on a regular basis. Coaching will be provided for players between games, with game analysis forming the core of this coaching.

Players must record their moves during their game. 1 pen per person will be provided, additional pens will be 50c per pen.

Food:

Arundel Hills Country Club has put together two possible menu options for lunches. These need to be pre-ordered at the time of registration. There is also a full bistro available on site throughout the day for parents to enjoy.

Cost:

$60 per player

Please note a late fee of $10 will be applicable for those registering/paying on the day.

Schedule:

Please ensure you arrive by 9.15am for registration otherwise you may be excluded from round 1.

Saturday 11th March – Registration at 8.45am – 9.15am, Round 1 @ 9.30am, Round 2 @ 11.45am, Round 3 @ 2.00pm

Sunday 12th March – Round 4 @ 9.30am, Round 5 @ 11.45am, Round 6 @ 2.00pm, Presentations @ 4.00pm

Time Control:

60 minutes per player + 10 seconds per move

Prizes:

Trophies for 1st to 3rd places + $50 + perpetual trophy

Trophy for best scoring girl

Trophy for rating group A

*Additional prize awarded to highest scoring playing across 3 x Junior Master Events + Gold Coast Juniors*

Supervision:

Parents will need to make their own judgement as to whether they need to be present for the duration of the event. Gardiner Chess will take sensible steps including outlining the playing area and other inside areas for players to be in.

Please be advised that there will NOT be a canteen operating on the day. Children should bring their own lunch and snacks.
